Did you know that Reflexology can make you happy?

I talk a lot about how Reflexology is relaxing and will help you sleep better. But did you know that it is also great for lifting your mood?

.

The brain reflex is located on the big toe (or the thumb) and includes three smaller reflex points; the pituitary gland, the pineal gland, and the hypothalamus, which are all key for stimulating and producing ‘happy hormones’ for the body:

💓 Dopamine is known as the ‘feel good’ hormone and is associated with pleasurable sensations

💓 Serotonin helps regulate your mood

💓 Oxytocin is known as the ‘love hormone’ and is important for building warm feelings like trust, empathy and bonding

💓 Endorphins are known as our body’s ‘natural pain reliever’ and are also amazing mood-lifters

.

By working the brain reflex during a Reflexology session I can help stimulate the production of endorphins and these ‘happy hormones’ to boost your sense of well-being.

.

Other ways to stimulate the release of these natural mood-lifters include:

☀️Getting outdoors for some sunshine and fresh air

🏃‍♀️ Getting your blood pumping with a run, bike ride or workout

😂 Laughing more! It’s the best medicine

🎵 Listening to or playing some music

🧘‍♀️ Doing something mindful like meditation or yoga

💋 Getting romantic - physical affection is great for boosting oxytocin

💤 And remember to keep your hormones balanced by getting a good nights sleep

If you've been feeling down and you’d like to try Reflexology to lift your mood then why not book in to see me for a session? I'm at the C'est La Vie Wellness clinic in Oakville on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
