Reflexology during pregnancy

Updated: May 31

Reflexology is beneficial for every stage of your pregnancy.. Having regular Reflexology throughout your pregnancy can support your changing body and help prepare you for birth and beyond..

.

🌱 Reflexology can promote hormonal balance, healthy menstrual cycles and reproductive organs, and provide emotional support when trying to conceive. It is a beautiful way to prepare your body for pregnancy.

.

🌱In the early stages of pregnancy relaxing reflexology sessions help boost energy levels, and ease symptoms like nausea, heartburn, stress and anxiety.

.

🌱During your second trimester it can help relieve aches and pains as your body and posture changes, improve digestion, and help prevent stress-related issues

.

🌱In your third trimester reflexology can help with fatigue and promote easier and deeper sleep. It can help ease heartburn and boost sluggish digestion as your growing baby takes up space. And it can provide emotional support and grounding as you prepare for birth.

.

🌱Once you reach full-term we work on giving the body strength, endurance and the ability to manage stress for labour. Specific reflex points are worked to promote flow of oxytocin and encourage uterine contractions. Babies come when they want to come, but reflexology brings relaxation and calm to the body to allow it to set itself into labour.

.

🌱And reflexology shouldn’t stop once you give birth - it’s a wonderful way to support postpartum healing by encouraging a return to homeostasis. Reflex points can be worked to help with muscular skeletal tension and pain relief, hormonal balance, encouraging milk supply, helping with deeper sleep, and lifting mood and energy levels. It’s a perfect time to let someone take care of you while you’re busy taking care of your baby.

.
